The Drum has signed up Paul Carroll, the founder and former chairman of Communique PR, as a regular columnist.

Carroll, who now runs consultancy firm Zuma 011, will appear fortnightly with his Joining up the Dots column to tackle a range of topical and long-standing issues impacting upon the industry.

Carroll established Communique as a £3million business, before selling the company to Burson Marstellar in 2001. He left the business in 2004 and returned a year later to launch Zuma 011.

In his first piece for the magazine, which can be found on page 11, he discusses PR disasters and casts his eye over the recent controversy caused by Rochdale City Council’s latest marketing activity.
