Third Eye Design has appointed Lisa Smith as a designer for its New York studio.

Smith will now work closely with Alexia Cox, creative director for New York, who joined the agency in April 2006.

Smith spent five years with design consultancy Browns. There she had ongoing relationships with a number of clients including Channel 4, D&AD, Magnum photographers Susan Meiselas and Bruce Gilden, artist Paul Davis and fashion designer Dries Van Noten.

Over the past two years she has worked at the V&A, London’s largest museum of art and design, where she worked across a variety of disciplines.

Mark Noë, group managing director at Third Eye Design said: “Lisa is a world class designer and her hire is part of our on-going commitment to create one of the most exciting and talented teams in the world."

Smith will take up her position stateside from September 2007. It is thought that potential new studios are also currently being considered for both Miami and San Francisco.
