S&N off-shoot for incubator push

Scottish and Newcastle is thought to be launching a new division that aims to nurture new or under-developed premium drinks brands.

Called the Green Shoots Drinks Company the operation will serve as an incubator for Scottish and Newcastle which has evolved to focus very much on its main national brands.

“This will give the company a chance to focus on the multitude of other brands which it owns but is not currently developing,” said one insider, “the long term hope is that they will identify and grow what could be the big brands of tomorrow.”

As The Drum went to press, it was unclear to what extent they will be working with Scottish agencies on the projects which might emerge. S&N declined to comment.
