Edinburgh-based design agency Redpath has completed the £71,000 rebrand of the Scottish Executive, now known as the Scottish Government, which launched on 3 September.

The agency is a supplier under the Scottish Government’s design contract, and was appointed directly to undertake the conceptual rebrand.

Redpath has a successful history of undertaking Government design contracts, having previously undertaken the rebranding of the NHS, and also created the brand identity for the Scottish Parliament in 1999.

The total cost of renaming the Scottish Parliament’s civil service was £110,000, including the physical replacement of building signs and logos, £10,000 of which will be reclaimed through tax.

Meanwhile, the Scottish Government has advised that the pitching process for its lucrative four-year media contract has now been delayed until 3 December, some four months after the due date.

The contract will be worth a maximum of £60 million over its four-year lifespan.

Incumbent agency Mediacom has had its four-year contract extended to cover the delay.
