Feathers Brooksbank has narrowly missed out on winning the Oxfam media account – after the high-profile charity claimed that the agency’s carbon footprint was too large.

Stuart Feather, co-founder of the agency, claims however, that this may be a sign of changing times and could lead to regionally-based clients becoming more inclined to use local agencies.

“We came very close, however, the initial tender document did ask for information on issues such as our carbon footprint. They eventually felt, that as we were based in Edinburgh and they are in London, for us to handle the account would require more air travel.”

Meanwhile, Sage UK has appointed Feather Brooksbank to handle its media planning and buying account for its Small Business Division.

Feather Brooksbank will start work on the new business as of next month. The media agency will be working in conjunction with Drummond Central to plan and implement all forthcoming acquisition activity.

The business was won from the incumbent, direct response and digital specialist agency, Equi=Media.
