Feather Brooksbank has failed to pick up Oxfam’s media account after the client claimed the media buyer’s carbon footprint was too large.

Stuart Feather, co-founder of the agency, said this may be a sign of changing times and could mean regionally based clients would be inclined to use more locally-based agencies.

“We came very close, however, the initial tender document did ask for information on issues such as our carbon footprint. They eventually felt, that as we were based in Edinburgh and they are in London, for us to handle the account would require more air travel.”

It is understood the contract has now gone to London’s Mediacom.

Feather Brooksbank has, however, won the Sage UK media planning and buying account for the Small Business Division.

Feather Brooksbank will be working in conjunction with Drummond Central to plan and implement all forthcoming acquisition activity.
