442 and Spring Corp have teamed up to create a one-off concept-space for Xfm, in Edinburgh’s exclusive Multrees Walk – an area more commonly known as home to brands like Armani, G-Star and Calvin Klein.

Xfm chose the luxury retail zone as its temporary HQ for the duration of the Edinburgh Festival.

442 and Spring were given the task of transforming the vacant unit into a working broadcast studio that also doubles up as a media centre and live venue.

On top of that, it will also be the Festival home to the Xfm’s sales & marketing team. Xfm Scotland’s head of marketing, Stuart Duncan said: “The short-term lease came out of the blue. But just one week to kit out an empty shell was always going to be a challenge.”

To implement the data-capture task, Spring designed a state-of-the art ‘throughglass’ touch screen panel with interface accessed literally ‘through the glass’ from the street.
