Glorious Creative has been appointed by Zig Zag Papers to handle the marketing account for the relaunch of its latest brand.

The Manchester-based agency will create a marketing strategy to promote the French cigarette paper brand JOB. It is the first time Zig Zag has used a UK agency.

Mark Ross, design director at Glorious, said: “This is a tremendous brand with significant creative potential. We’re going to have to work very hard to find new ways to promote it and generate greater profile.”

Zig Zag, the second largest selling cigarette paper brand in the UK, won the JOB licence last year from Imperial Tobacco and has national distribution.

Andrew Armstrong, Zig Zag’s managing director, said: “Most British agencies we spoke to just didn’t get our brands, so we’ve tended to use French agencies. But Glorious really got into the JOB brand – they know what we’re about.”
