Profile Plus has won a four-way pitch to handle the PR for Westin Turnberry Resort in the lead up to hosting the British Open Championships in 2009.

The agency won the account against three London agencies, demonstrating a creative response to the brief with a campaign across the Scottish media covering print, broadcast and online.

Stephen Walker, director of sales and marketing for Westin Turnberry Resort, said: “We were very impressed with Profile Plus’s presentation. They demonstrated a clear understanding of the brand, the positioning and growth strategy of the resort. They also brought some very creative and well-researched PR ideas and partnership opportunities which we look forward to implementing with the team.”

Meanwhile, the agency has been appointed to handle six wine brands for Harvey Miller Wine and Spirit Agencies. This follows Profile Plus’ earlier appointment in the year to work on Pisa, a nut liqueur and Tomatin and Antiquary whiskies, which are also distributed by the HMWSA.

Kerry Teakle has joined the PR agency and will work on the HMSWA wine account. She has worked in-house for Bass Leisure, Bass Brewers and Scottish Courage.
