Richard Goodall Gallery, the name behind photographers and artists such as Terry O’Neill, Gered Mankowitz, Anton Corbijn, Mark Seliger and Graham Nash, has appointed Vertigo as its retained PR agency.

The Manchester-based agency’s first task is to open Goodall’s new 3500 sq ft gallery on High Street in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. To coincide with the opening on 8 July 2007, the gallery will host its first major show; a series of works by Leonard Cohen, who is exhibiting in Europe for the first time.

Cohen, who will be at the opening, has been creating his highly personal art since the early 1960s and until now it has never been seen. Each pigment print is signed and numbered by Leonard Cohen and are in limited edition sets of 100.

Vertigo’s brief is to raise the profile of the Gallery particularly on a national and international level and to generate increased interest and sales.

Richard Goodall said: “We’ve got some really high profile exhibitions in the coming months and the new gallery is a landmark in the business’s development. We really want to put Manchester on the map for art, and future shows featuring Mark Seliger, Ray Caesar, Ronnie Wood and Marc Chagall will do just that.”

Richard Goodall’s existing Gallery on Thomas Street will be renamed ‘underground’ and will continue to exhibit and sell underground art, posters, designer vinyl, books and clothing.
