Weber Shandwick on track for waverley brief

Following a three way competitive pitch, Weber Shandwick has won the PR account for The Waverley Railway Project from the incumbent.

The consultancy is to deliver a full-service communications programme, managing media relations, community consultation, public affairs and the production of all support material. The project, which is due for completion in 2011, is currently overseen by Scottish Borders Council.

The account was previously held by Trimedia Harrison Cowley.

“We are delighted to be part of such a significant project that will restore this important transport link,” said Nora Farrell, managing director of Weber Shandwick said.

Meanwhile, Weber Shandwick has also recently added another two accounts to its books both Gaelic Media Service and the Edge Awards, The Gaelic Media Service account will be headed up by the agency’s native Gaelic speaking account director John MacNeil.

On the Edge Awards account, the agency has been tasked with deliveing a media relations programme, as well as to promote the awards to trade associations and businesses and help to select the judging panel.
