Ritchie takes over at West Sound as station director

Brenda Ritchie, former sponsorship and promotions director at Radio Clyde, has been appointed as the station director at West Sound in Ayrshire.
Ritchie started in promotions at News International, before moving to West Sound Radio as sponsorship and promotions executive in June 1992. In April 1997 she moved to Radio Clyde to manage sales and promotions for both Radio Clyde and West Sound.
Since 2000 she has worked solely for Radio Clyde and was promoted to sponsorship and promotions director in June 2004.
The appointment follows the departure of former MD Sheena Borthwick Toomey at the beginning of the year, following wide-spread restructuring by the group.
Meanwhile, Emap Scotland’s political editor, Colin Mackay has been awarded News Reporter of the Year at the prestigious Independent Radio News Awards in London.
Mackay, who fronts all political broadcasting for Radio Clyde and Radio Forth, beat competition from the entire UK Commercial Radio Network stations to win the coveted title.
