Angus MacIntyre and Claire Miller, who have worked at several of Scotland’s leading agencies for clients such as RBS, Peugeot Citroen, Scottish & Newcastle, BAA, Direct Line, Scottish Water and the Department of Health, have launched new agency Taste Design into Edinburgh.

MacIntyre cited the chance to work in partnership with clients as one of the motivations behind the launch.

“It’s important that a client can speak directly to the person who’s working on their project,” he said. “Designers can’t do their best work if they are in an isolated bubble – they need to be there for the client and enter into a real dialogue with them.

“Taste is all about spicing things up and adding flavour to the world of design. Or to use a menu-inspired term, it’s traditional print work with a twist.”

MacIntyre worked at Wig Wam and Tictoc before joining Redhouse Lane in July 2001 as senior designer.

Miller worked in house for Scottish Gas as the internal communications team’s designer, before going freelance in 2001, working for publishing companies such as Pinpoint Scotland and Better Media Group.

She joined Redhouse Lane as a freelancer in 2005 where she met MacIntyre.
