NFU Mutual (NFUM) has appointed Huddersfield-headquartered group Adare as its marketing communications supplier.

The three-year contract, thought to carry a £5million budget, will require Adare to provide a range of marketing services to help NFUM increase its brand control and efficiency. Adare will handle print procurement, art work and repro, storage, distribution, fulfilment and collation of over 700 separate types of literature.

The insurance, investment and pensions specialist has also tasked Adare with improving its online service for around 400 NFUM agents across the UK, enabling the company to send orders for marketing and sales literature directly to Adare. It\'s hoped the new model will improve delivery lead times and generate cost benefits.

Karen Price, special projects manager at NFUM, said: \"As a result of feedback from agents across the country, we\'re pleased to have found a business partner who can offer a complete end-to-end marketing communications solution with the distribution capabilities we need.

\"Adare will provide a much more efficient and cost-effective service to the business, giving us the opportunity to scale the operation to meet the changing needs of NFU Mutual and our customers.\"

The Adare account management team has started the process of identifying ways in which it can develop the online provision using software and technology available within the company.

The NFUM deal follows a double contract win for Adare at the end of 2006, including a £5m marketing communications contract with health club giant Fitness First and a five-year deal with leading security company Securitas UK. Meanwhile, Adare has announced the arrival of Alistair Cane as the firm\'s new executive director for strategic solutions. Cane has been handed the primary objective of driving and developing marketing and corporate communications solutions for Adare\'s major clients. Adare positions itself as a data-driven, multi-media marketing and corporate communications organisation.
