Reid Furniture is expected to announce its new advertising agency next week.

The Glasgow-based retailer held a three-way pitch last month for its £3 million account. Manchester\'s BDH\\TBWA is awaiting the decision along with Edinburgh-based firms IAS Smarts and The Leith Agency. CheethamBell JWT, which was initially involved in the review, did not pitch.

The account, which is currently handled by Glasgow-based Curious Group, was the subject of industry speculation in November, but at the time Reid Furniture denied that it was speaking to other agencies.

Andy Crummey of Agency Assessments North has overseen the pitch process. Curious Group was not asked to pitch, despite recently producing a new TV advertising campaign for the chain starring one-time Bond Girl Jane Seymour.

The review signifies the end of Reid Furniture\'s long-standing relationship with The Curious Group and Coltas - which merged with Curious Oranj to launch the new group earlier this year.

The review was instigated by Anne Gibb, head of marketing at the furniture chain and former Feather Brooksbank director.

Reid operates 32 stores throughout the UK and Ireland. The chosen agency is expected to begin work on TV and press-led advertising campaigns.
