Golley Slater has announced its plans to make London its group headquarters after a £2.5million move into the city.

Following a review led by Golley Slater CEO Chris Lovell, the agency has decided to restructure its business, with London replacing Cardiff as its flagship office. Lovell confirmed the south Wales base would remain the \"central service\" of the company.

Moving to the new base in London\'s Margaret Street will be 30 staff from the agency\'s Twickenham office and 21 from Covent Garden. In addition, several key senior members of the group will relocate.

Lovell said: \"Eighty per cent of the advertising decisions are made in London and we are increasingly working on more and more national work. It\'s a logical next step for the business.\"

Lovell, along with Simon Freethy and Andrew Tillard, completed a management buy-in three years ago. Since then the agency has concluded a series of agency acquisitions including Northern Profile, Mad Avenue, McCann-Erickson and Push Digital, all of which have rebranded as Golley Slater. The agency currently operates from 11 offices across the UK.

The review has also seen Golley Slater restructure its advertising and PR businesses into two national divisions, promoting Cardiff advertising MD Mike Leeson to the role of overall divisional advertising managing director. Birmingham advertising CEO Ken Copson has become divisional chairman of the advertising agency within the group.

The group has also taken its first steps towards a potential £100m float.
