Dig For Fire has been appointed to the consumer PR brief for UK optician chain Vision Express.

The agency was retained to handle all media relations and PR activity having already worked with the client for a year.

Early last year, following a three-way pitch, the PR division of the Sheffield-based agency was appointed by Vision Express to work on a project basis.

Last September, Dig For Fire was behind the RAC-backed eye exam campaign for Vision Express, which saw the use of media relations alongside store events and online viral activity to raise awareness of the need for eye tests.

Vision Express this year aims to increase its status in the UK using consumer campaigns and the launch of several new products. Sally Polak, PR manager for Vision Express, said: \"The decision to put Dig For Fire on a retained basis reflects a successful project-based relationship and their ability to deliver in terms of planning, creative and execution.\"
