Otto consolidates £8m media task in PHD North

Otto UK, part of the world’s biggest home shopping company, has consolidated its £8 million media planning and buying account into PHD North.

Prior to the five-way pitch, the account had been split between MediaVest Manchester for Otto UK’s Grattan brand and Zed Media for Kaleidoscope

Alex Hardy, Kaleidoscope brand director, said: “Otto UK is committed to developing its multi brand strategy, and we wanted an agency that could understand each of our brands and could deliver tailor made solutions and drive an innovative approach to media planning.”

PHD North managing director, Jason Spencer said: “This is a really prestigious account to win and a great fit with what PHD North stands for.

“Otto have always looked to push the boundaries and make waves in this sector. We believe that PHD North are perfectly placed to pioneer new and innovative solutions in a market that needs fresh thinking.”

The review was handled by procurement service provider, Buying Team.

The Manchester-based agency also been appointed to handle the launch the Novogen Menopause Test Kit.

The biotechnology company, which has appointed Connect in Wolverhampton to handle the creative on the brief, has a host of activity planned for 2007. TV and press advertising is expected to feature.

Jo Atkins, account director at PHD North, added: \"Everyone is concerned nowadays about the effects and side effects of prescribed drugs which is why Novogen have invested in Red Clover as the natural menopause health supplement.\"
