WAA has been appointed by Folio Hotels to handle its national marketing strategy.

The agency has been briefed to develop the brand and will create seasonal press ad campaigns and direct mail. It will also launch and manage a loyalty scheme in conjunction with WAA’s CRM specialist Send Marketing Solutions.

Mark Taylor, head of marketing at Folio said of the appointment; “As a relatively young group, it is vital for us to raise brand awareness. WAA has already gained a strong understanding of our vision and values. We’re looking forward to developing a successful ongoing partnership.”

Andrew Wilson, chief executive of WAA group said: “As an agency we have considerable experience of marketing hotel and luxury brands. Being involved at such an early stage is an exciting opportunity.”

Folio Hotels was formed in November 2004 by two hotel veterans: Nicholas Crawley, former Regal/Corus Hotels and The Scotsman Hotel Group managing director and Martyn Levitt, former finance director of Firmdale Hotels.

The group currently owns 22 hotels, and leases a number of others. It chooses to ‘lightly brand’ its properties, to allow the hotels to take on their own ‘personae’.
