ENCAMS has appointed four agencies onto its design roster, following a four month tendering process.

South Manchester-based Lake, Dig For Fire in Sheffield and Manchester-based Vivid have been chosen alongside London-based Harrison Troughton Wunderman to work with the environmental campaigns organisation over the next three years.

ENCAMS is the part-Defra funded organisation, tasked with improving local environmental quality through issue-related marketing campaigns. Its most high-profile campaign to date was Keep Britain Tidy.

The Europe-wide tender attracted 89 agencies, which were initially whittled down to a shortlist of 10.

Lake has worked for ENCAMS for the past four years and most recently created the \'40 Years of Dirt\' outdoor campaign around the World Cup and the \'Rats\' cinema commercial, which ran through September.

The agency\'s first task since the reappointment is to deliver a Christmas litter campaign, which will be launched in towns and cities across the UK in December. The agency will also handle various design, branding and new media projects.

Dig For Fire is another agency to have kept its place on the roster following the review. Its most notable project was the smoking-related litter campaign, \'No Butts\', which ran earlier this year.

Dig For Fire will be working on ENCAMS\' annual issue-related campaigns as well as general design projects. This is expected to include work on anti-social issues such as grafitti, fly posting, dog fouling, abandoned vehicles and gum dropping.

Vivid is a newcomer to the roster, but is no stranger to issue related campaigns, having worked with Pure Innovation and The Environment Agency.

Vivid managing director, Rachel Emson, said: \"Vivid is thrilled to be appointed to the roster and is looking forward to working with ENCAMS.\"

Senior marketing manager for ENCAMS, Ginette Unsworth said: \"It\' important that we get the right message to the right people in the right format to help make our streets cleaner.\"
