B&W Studio has developed two brands for high-street fashion retailer, Republic.

The Leeds-based design agency has created a new women’s brand called Miso Chic, which is going into 90 stores nationwide. The agency has produced swingers, point of sale and clothing labels for the brand.

The agency’s second task was to create a wide range of design materials for Republic’s surf and skateboard band, Soul Cal. The agency based its idea around a stencil, which was used when sprayed as a logo. The identity was then rolled out across swingers, labels, t-shirt motifs and buttons.

The work follows B&W’s high profile launch last month of Urban Splash’s Annual Report for 2005/06. Based around black and white photography of recent building project, VIEWS took six months to prepare.

B&W pitched against Graphic Thought Facility, The Chase, Thompson Design and Peter & Paul for the contract.
