Edinburgh-based marketing agency, BOB Marketing Solutions has been appointed by London skiwear manufacturer, Nevica Technical Sportswear Systems to launch a significant new skiwear brand into the international marketplace.

The company, headed up by the entrepreneur Paul Goldstein, has made its name in specialist skiwear under the Nevica trading name over the last 25 years.

It was also, up until recently, responsible for the manufacture and distribution of the elite Killy brand for 13 years, named after the famous French three-times Olympic Gold Medallist, Jean-Claude Killy.

BOB will now be responsible for the new brand’s global communication strategy as well as all above and below-the-line activity.

“We want to launch something truly new and different into the global skiwear market,” said Paul Goldstein. “The market has been standing still for a number of years now and I felt that the time was right to lead from the front again and give it a right good old shake-up. I’m confident that with our new brand and BOB’s help, we can do that.”

Alan Nicholls, creative director at BOB, added: “This is a great win for us. Skiwear is a particularly upmarket and aspirational sector in which we are now delighted to be involved.

“With Paul’s track record in the industry and the launch plans we are developing for the new brand, the signs are that the brand is set for an exciting future.”

Still under wraps, the new brand is being launched to the skiwear trade over the coming months and is set to make its debut in the shops in time for the 2007 ski season.

The new business represents BOB’s third high-profile win in a short space of time, following the appointment to work on the No Catch organic cod brand as well as field marketing work for the Scottish Executive’s Organ Donation campaign.
