Edinburgh City Council’s PR team took top honours at the Chartered Institute for Public Relations awards this week, winning several prizes.

The team won gold in the Issues or Crisis Management Campaign category for its G8 Summit work, and it also won Gold in the Newsletter, Newspaper or Magazine category for Edinburgh Outlook. Gold was also won by the Edinburgh team in the In House Campaign category for ‘Caring for Our Children’.

Winner of best Low Budget campaign was Cloudline for its Jason Scotland promotion during last years World Cup, with ‘the Jason Scotland song’.

Martin Raymond, director of Cloudline was obviously pleased that the agency did well in its first full year of trading. Raymond commented; “The whole idea of it was to raise the profile of Scottish Quest and the Scottish Quest Website and to drive visitors to the website. That was the main thing, which we did do. I think it got about three million hits as a result of that.”

Cloudline were also finalists in the Small Team/Sole Practitioner category which was won by Artisan PR.

Other winners of the evening were Tricker PR, who took Golds in the Best Use of Photography category and the Charity and the Non Profit campaign.

Team of the Year was won by 3X1 which also won Gold in the Best Use of Media Relations and Consumer Campaign categories.
