2006's Young Spark Nominees Announced

The Young Spark Award judges met last week in order to decide on the finalists for this year’s award.

In the end the judges agreed on a shortlist of seven candidates who will each be interviewed on Tuesday 7 November.

The finalists are Amy Grundy, Intelligent Marketing & Communications, Clare Lawson, Ogilvy One Worldwide, Katherine Reeves, WDMP, Martin Harrison, Tullo Marshall Warren, Andy Sams, WWAV Rapp Collins Edinburgh, Fergus Hay, Claydon Heeley and Lynsey Fusco, Navigator.

The Young Sparks Judging panel comprised of Keith Macdonald, RBS, Kevin Greenhorn, Scottish & Southern Energy, Elaine Rosscraig, Stagecoach, Andy Sams, WWAV, Olivia Jones, Story (and current Young Spark), John Shannon, freelance creative, Liz Holt, cpywriter, Mandi Taylor, WWAV, Ian White, The Leith Agency, Mike Donoghue, Story, Heather McKinlay, Fraoch Marketing, Jan Morris, Mail Marketing, Justin Armsworth, Experian and Jackie Peddie, The Mailing House.

David Metcalfe, chairman of DMA Scotland, said, “The response has been fantastic which is extremely encouraging for the industry. The award is a brilliant way of recognising the wealth of young talent present in the direct marketing industry and is such a fitting tribute to John. He was a great champion of the values, drive and professionalism that we are looking to celebrate”

The winner will be announced at the DMA Scotland Ball on 17 November.
