5 million account wins for Mccann Central

McCann Erickson Communications House in Birmingham has secured over £5m of new business in recent weeks, following a number of high-profile appointments. Stanley Tools, Open University Business School, Daikin and Willowbrook have all become new clients of the agency.
Sheffield-based Stanley has concluded an agency review by choosing McCanns as its new pan-European communications agency. The eight-way pitch involved the likes of M&C Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather Brussels and 180 Amsterdam.
The appointment comes ahead of a major new product push for Stanley, which is scheduled for the final quarter of the year. The agency has also been charged with developing a wider integrated media plan for 2007, with spend expected to be in the region of £2m.
Details have not yet emerged on the type of activity, although Stanley has opted for an emphasis on press advertising in the past.
In May 2005 the tool firm appointed Leicester-based Big Communications to provide a through-the-line campaign, which focused on advertising in key publications, for the launch of new products.
Meanwhile, Mcanns has been appointed to handle the seven-figure account for Willowbrook; designer and manufacturer of adjustable beds, riser recliners, scooters, power chairs and bath and stair lifts.
The agency will create TV and press advertising, brochures and direct mail to promote the company.
In other wins for the agency, following a four-way pitch, McCanns will deliver a student recruitment campaign for the Open University Business School that will include advertising, online and PR.
Finally, air conditioning manufacturer Daikin has tasked the firm with handling a trade advertising and PR programme.
