Hoss Gifford Joins Third Eye in non-exec role

Third Eye Design has appointed Hoss Gifford to head up new media strategy for Third Eye Design in both Glasgow and New York.

He will take a non-executive role at the design agency, meaning that he will work exclusively with Third Eye Design on the agency front, although he will continue to work on his own interests.

Gifford founded award-winning new media agency Flammable Jam in 2000, and currently works as a freelance interactive director.

As well as winning multiple international awards for his work, Gifford has co-author several books including the titles New Masters of Flash and Flash Video Creativity and is a regular speaker at international design and technology conferences.

He has also spent a spell as visiting lecturer at Glasgow School of Art.

Speaking of the appointment Mark Noë, group managing director of Third Eye Design said: “Hoss will bring invaluable experience and knowledge to our new media offering and provide our clients with further possibilities to develop their brands through new media.”

Third Eye is currently creating online sites for a number of its clients, including Begg Scotland, architects RMJM and Kshocolat.

Speaking of his appointment, Gifford said: ““I’ve always found Mark Noë’s expansive approach to running his business a breath of fresh air compared with the traditionally parochial outlook of so many Scottish agencies. The awards they’ve won speak volumes about the quality of their design and, with a little guidance, I have every confidence they’ll need to make room for some new media trophies too.”
