D&AD has announced the launch of the first of its regional networks in Manchester. D&AD NorthWest will provide year-round events, workshops and exhibitions for professionals, students and the public to encourage and inspire the \"pursuit of creative excellence\".

D&AD NorthWest events will be hosted by Urbis in Manchester, launching on 22 March with a D&AD President’s Lecture from Michael Johnson, co-founder of Johnson Banks and a past president of D&AD.

The event has been organised by D&AD and a regional committee, made up of chairman Ben Casey of The Chase, Ray Barrett of BJL, Scott Burnham of Urbis, Andy Lockley and Alistair Sim of Love.

D&AD chief executive Michael Hockney said of the launch: \"I am very excited about D&AD NorthWest. D&AD has always known that creative excellence is not limited to within the M25 and now we can engage directly with the best and emerging creative talent in Northern England.\"
