Napier University and the Scottish IPA have appointed Susie Henry as course lecturer and creative consultant for its new MSc Creative Advertising postgraduate degree, which launched this month.

Henry began her career working for David Abbott. She went on to join DDB as a senior writer, leaving to become the first woman creative director to co-found a London agency. She was also a board director at Saatchi and Saatchi and, more recently, a creative consultant to TBWA and Saatchi and Saatchi.

The new full-time course is the first of its kind in Scotland to focus on the creative function of copywriting and art direction. It will use real briefs and case studies provided by the IPA.

Students will have a three-week work experience placement at one of the Scottish IPA member agencies, emerging from the course with first-hand agency experience and a creative portfolio.

The course is lead by Philip Lodge, who has a record of innovation in communication teaching, including on-line and work-based learning.
