Tartan Silk has been appointed by Edinburgh’s Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa to handle its public relations account following a three-way pitch.

The appointment comes after the five-star hotel and spa parted company with its previous PR agency, TFF, last year.

TFF was only appointed to the account in February 2005, winning the business from incumbent agency ProfilePlus, however the business parted company with TFF after just a few months.

The award-winning Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa now adds to Tartan Silk’s growing portfolio of hospitality businesses.

The agency already works for the contemporary hotel, Smiths at Gretna Green, East Haugh House, Glengoyne Castle and Spanish hotel Los Castanos.

Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa’s general manager, Peter Murphy, said: “We were looking for a successful and creative PR agency with a real understanding of the hospitality industry, one with whom we could work in close partnership with to help us achieve our goals.”

The Sheraton account will be handled by James Walter.
