Glasgow-based design agency D8 has bolstered its team of senior designers with the appointment of Stephen Cappello, who joins from Bell Graphic.

Cappello, who has been at the rival Glasgow design team for five years, was Bell Graphic’s senior designer working across a high-profile range of clients including Scottish Ballet, City Halls, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scotland, CCA and Glasgow School of Art.

Cappello will join D8 in January. He says: “Five years is a long time to be at one place, but it’s been fantastic. I have learnt loads from Al [Bell]. He is a bit of a legend.

“This is a personal challenge for me. You always want to grow as a designer. At Bell Graphic I had two very talented designers beneath me, now I’m looking forward to working with some talented, like-minded people at D8.”

Tracey Kelly, chief executive of D8, added: “We're delighted to have Stephen join our team of senior designers. He has produced some great work at Bell and we like his mature, energetic approach to creative work as well as his temperament with both clients and colleagues. His passion for producing outstanding creative work across a broad range of projects is obvious.”
