Gala Group, one of the UK’s leading leisure operators, has appointed the digital arm of Poulters, to overhaul its web presence across the firm’s bingo, casinos and corporate websites.

The new Gala Bingo website, www.gala-bingo.co.uk, has been designed to boost membership applications at Gala Bingo clubs across Britain. The site incorporates an easy one page process for joining a Gala Bingo club via the web, replacing a much more detailed application process.

Visitors to the site will benefit from comprehensive but easy-to-access information, simple search mechanisms to locate local clubs, and an easy application process to enable them to become active members. Gala saw a 30 per cent increase in bingo club applications in the first two days of the site going live.

Poulters’ Managing Director, Gary McCall, said of the appointment: “We are delighted that Gala has chosen Poulters’ digital team to upgrade its online presence. The gaming industry is a unique environment. It combines the need to comply with stringent regulation, with the need to promote, in a responsible way, an increasingly popular and socially acceptable consumer leisure activity. These three Gala sites communicate on a wide range of issues to a diverse group of audiences. Part of the challenge in their development was to blend that diverse requirement with an approach, which is practical and coherent. The sites also had to position Gala as the leader in its field and encourage new customers to join in the fun.”
