The winner of Real Radio and The Drum’s War Of The Words competition is to be revealed in November after the competition prompted a staggering amount of entries from many sectors.

Kevin McAuley, Real Radio’s head of agency sales, said; “We were very impressed with the number of entries but we set out to touch a nerve and we appear to have done so. The diversity in style, length and creativity among the entries was also encouraging, so watch this space for the winner!”

Entrants varied the lengths of their entries, with some choosing shorter formats and others longer or ‘top and tail’ formats. The entries, which came in by script, mock-up production or full production, will be shortlisted to a final six ads. Those six will be judged by the panel of judges, which includes Irn-Bru marketer, Jonathan Kemp; Fly Globespan’s marketing manager, Judith Duffy and Scott Ashforth, the marketing manager of Arnold Clark, Real Radio Scotland’s managing director, Billy Anderson, and Gordon Young, publisher, The Drum, will also sit on the judging panel. The winning entry will scoop £20,000 worth of production and airtime.
