Cabtivate Media has acquired Scotland’s longest-established taxi advertising firm.
Cabtivate – which offers in-cab TV commercials to advertisers through new flat-screen technology as well as news, short films, local information and music videos – has taken over ITS Advertising, the black cab livery advertising firm that operates throughout the UK.
Julian Woolley, head of marketing with Cabtivate, said the acquisition of the established ITS brand further reinforced the hi-tech firm’s growing importance in the marketplace.
He added: “It is a strategic alliance because we now have a firm with an excellent, long-standing pedigree combined with an innovative company which is not afraid of harnessing the latest technology.”
Cabtivate’s flat-screen technology is already fitted in 30 Edinburgh cabs and will be added to 300 more in the capital and a further 300 in Glasgow in the next three years. It will also be extended into other cities including Dundee, Manchester and Birmingham.
