Details have emerged that following a decision to put BDW Marketing into administration in July, the director of the agency, Alec Thompson, has launched a new marketing company.

Continuing to operate at Brierley Hill in the West Midlands, Thompson’s new venture, Tango Marketing Communications, is understood to still be working with some of BDW’s former clients including, Alfa Romeo and Marks & Spencer.

In August of last year, Thompson became the last remaining director at BDW after “financial circumstances” resulted in a number of redundancies and the closure of its concert promotions sister company, BDW Promotes.

Industry speculation at the time suggested Thompson was looking for funding to continue running the business however this was not forthcoming and the decision was taken to close the firm.

Although Thompson was unavailable for comment on his new enterprise at the time of Adline going to press, a spokesperson at the agency revealed that Tango is now fully functional, with “10 to 12 staff, plus freelancers” and is busy producing work for its clients.
