Glasgow-based print firm Crown Press has been forced into liquidation.

The company, headed by directors Ken Crown, Beth Thornton and Scott Simpson, made an announcement to staff at the end of last month to notify them of the company’s position.

The printing house, which moved to Craigton Industrial Estate in 2003, employed around 20 staff, who have all now been laid off. However, one former employee has revealed that a majority of staff at the firm have already found new employment within the print industry, with four former Crown Press employees joining Print Squared in Glasgow.

It is unknown whether the Crown directors have found employment

Appointed liquidator Gordon McIntyre at Tenon was not available for comment as The Drum went to press.
