1576 has bolstered its below-the-line and creative departments with the hiring of copywriter, Doug Nolan, from Story, and Lorna MacGregor, from STA Travel.

Nolan has worked on NTL, Direct Holidays and Clydesdale Bank in his three years at Story, and prior to that was at Riley and TMP. He will work across all of 1576’s direct marketing and sales promotion clients such as National Trust for Scotland, Kwik Fit, Walkers Shortbread and Alliance Trust Savings.

MacGregor was marketing manager at STA Travel, and joins as account manager on clients such as Wiseman Dairies, John Menzies and Seafish.

Gary Smith said: “Following on from the account wins of ATS and Hearts, and the changing profile of 1576 into a genuinely integrated agency, we needed to bring in a number of new people. The diversity in their backgrounds will ensure the rest of 2005 is as successful as the first half has been for the agency.”
