WWAP Rapp Collins Edinburgh has appointed two brothers, Peter and Paul Murphy, as joint creative directors.

The Murphys have been recruited from London-based creative agency VCCP. Prior to VCCP the pair spent two years in the US working at global agency D’Arcy.

WWAV Group CEO Chris Gordon said: “The work we have done here in Edinburgh has always set the standard for the group. One of the ways you continue to be innovative is to invest in your creativity, hence the appointment of Peter and Paul.”

Peter Murphy commented: “We were drawn by the combination of the opportunity and the quality of life here. The brands here are just so good, and this agency has a real reputation.”

“I think Scotland’s a real step up,” added Paul Murphy. “There’s something about London that can really stifle the creative process and it’s great to get the opportunity to break free and make our mark up here.”

Prior to their work in creative agencies, both brothers worked outside of the marketing industry, Peter in furniture sales and Paul as a secondary teacher.

At WWAV Edinburgh the two will head an 11-strong creative team working on a range of accounts that includes Scottish Friendly, Tesco Personal Finance and P&G.

The Murphys succeed former creative director Caroline Cooper, who departed earlier in the year.
