Women in Games, the annual conference debating the role of women in computer games and the games industry, is launching a creative competition to students.

Conference organisers are also looking for the support of the ad industry to sponsor prizes and/or work placements for the winners of the contest, which is open to marketing and graphics students nationwide.

The contest is to devise a marketing strategy, complete with ad executions and details of promotional events and merchandising, for a game concept called Shadow Witches. Winners will be announced at the Women in Games 2005 conference, to be held in Dundee, in August.

The conference is also seeking members of the Scottish ad industry who are interested in participating in judging the contest. For more information contact Inga Paterson at University of Abertay on 01382 308 628 or email i.paterson@tay.ac.uk.
