Freshwater UK, the fast growing PR and marketing group, has secured a £675,000 cash injection to fund its expansion strategy.

The agency acquired Reekie Public Relations, in Glasgow, in November last year, to add to existing operations in London and Bristol as well as the head office in Cardiff. The business is aiming to create a PR network with a presence in every region.

The new funds, which include a £500,000 equity investment by Finance Wales, will be used to develop the group and make further acquisitions.

“The growth of the network will allow us to increase even further the range and quality of the services we offer clients,” said Steve Howell, chief executive at Freshwater UK. “Our strategy is to bring together strong regional players, with similar values, who can add to the pool of expertise we have available.”

Freshwater UK is aiming to become one of the top five PR agencies outside London.
