Following almost a year-long search, Baxters Food Group has finally appointed a replacement for former marketing director Robin Lambie.

Andrew Fields, who will take up the position of sales and marketing director European ambient brands on 16 May, joins from Extraprise, a management consultancy business.

Fields has spent over 18 years in the industry working with some of the country’s leading brands including Volvic, Birds Eye Wall’s, Britvic and Guinness, where he was business development manager until 2000.

Robin Lambie left the Group last July after seven years with the company, when changes were announced for his role as director of demand chain, which included sales and marketing.

The Scottish soup manufacturer has also appointed Murray Calder to Fields’ team as brands controller. Previously global marketing manager at The Edrington Group, Calder will be responsible for all of the brands in the Baxters Food Group portfolio.

The Union and Mediacom are incumbent agencies on the Baxters account, handling creative and planning and buying respectively, however the new marketing appointments at the Food Group could see the business being reviewed as Fields and Calder settle into their roles.

The Union has already seen a large client depart, in the form of Intelligent Finance, as a result of senior marketing appointments.

A spokesperson for Baxters did not rule out the chance of an agency review, although she did say that the choice would be in Fields’ hands when he joins later this month.
