Golley Slater (Birmingham) has confirmed the appointment of Andy Walton as managing director of the business. Walton, who spent ten years as managing director of Wallis Tomlinson, will join the firm this month, working alongside chief executive Ken Copson.

Known more recently as the founder and managing director of Midlands-based Mad Avenue, Walton has produced recent campaigns for Coors, Crosby Homes, National Express, Hardys and Hansons and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Commenting on his latest appointment, Walton said: “They’ve got some really impressive people, particularly at the top end of the agency, so there’s a real opportunity to do great things there.”

Chris Lovell, CEO at the Golley Slater Group, added: “Andy built up a phenomenal track record as MD of Wallis Tomlinson, and his appointment at Golley Slater is a key development in positioning us as the market leader in the Midlands.

“We have a heritage of producing great work for clients that builds business and brands, and Andy will help continue this. Golley Slater has an impressive client portfolio, ranging from David Wilson Homes to Mitsubishi Motors, that any London agency would love to represent, and this swayed Andy to join us.”

Current on-air TV commercials produced by Golley Slater include David Wilson Homes and the “Ooh Ah Mitsubishi Colt”.
