First Transpennine Express, part of the Aberdeen headquartered First Group, is set to launch a new advertising campaign – the first since its formation in March last year. Created by Wilmslow’s Frank the Agency the campaign is an exclusively outdoor exercise, running on various size formats, including 48-sheet posters, throughout key cities such as Manchester, York, Sheffield and Leeds.

Frank, which has held a place on the firm’s roster for the last three years, claimed the job following a competitive pitch against other rostered agencies, including Manchester’s Connectpoint.

The campign has been crafted to lure travellers out of their cars and onto the group’s trains when they consider setting out on a trans-Pennine journey. To achieve this modal switch the team at Frank, namely Carl Edwards, Ian Skinner and Pete Hopkins, play on the benefits of train travel through a variety of executions.

Frank’s founding director Ian Helsby commented: “it was a nice win for us and we’re looking forward to working with First again soon.”
