Strategic planning on how best to spend the £1.15m allocated to promoting Bradford is currently being drawn up by newly appointed agency Brahm. The initiative, which has been launched by the Bradford Centre Regeneration (BCR) and Bradford Vision’s Economic Development Partnership, appointed the Leeds-based agency last month to handle the two-year brief, after a search that began with 36 firms.

Simon Mountford from the BCR remarked: \"The objective of the campaign is really to change people’s perceptions of Bradford, specifically the external market.

\"Brahm is currently in the process of drawing up the strategy, which we hope to begin implementing in January.\"

Brahm was initially shortlisted along with five other agencies, three of which were also from Yorkshire, one in Lancashire and the other in London.

BCR chairman Michael Ziff has also highlighted the need to attract significant levels of investment in order to finance \"the radical transformation envisaged in the masterplan\".

In other news, Brahm has rebuffed claims that it is set to lose its relationship with Yorkshire Forward following intense industry speculation. The agency has insisted that it will definitely be one of the firms applying to get on the organisation’s roster of agencies when Yorkshire Forward review their communications strategy in the the new year.
