Prospect, The Drum's sister architecture title, scooped awards for best design for a business/professional magazine and Penny Lewis, the magazine's editor, picked up the Editor of the Year title at this year’s PPA awards.

Jackie Bird hosted The Periodical Publishers Association in Scotland's Awards Ceremony at The Radisson Hotel in Glasgow where over 270 guests from the publishing industry gathered to pay tribute to the achievements of those who reached the shortlist and then went on to become winners (see below for a full run-down of awards).

The Scottish Farmer scooped the top award at this year’s PPA awards, winning the title of Magazine of the Year.

Guest of Honour, Patricia Ferguson MSP, Minister for Tourism, Culture & Sport, praised the "impressive number of entries".

Christopher Ward, Vice-chairman of Redwood Publishing and Chair of the Judging Panel applauded the "editorial excellence of Scotland's burgeoning magazine industry" and stated that the judges were "won over by the ability of the editors and publishers to infect their readers with their own enthusiasm, through the power of the writing and the clarity of their designs".

Nick Creed from The Carnyx Group, The Drum’s parent organisation, chairman of PPA Scotland spoke of the "fantastic breadth of talent, quality and professionalism" and recognised that it was the "sheer passion and commitment from everyone involved in magazine publishing that makes this industry in Scotland what it is today".
