Rumours abound that the much-speculated Emap bid to take over Scottish Radio Holdings could happen within the next two weeks.

Emap has already been involved in a number of senior industry reshuffles, in what is thought to be preparation for the takeover, that sees managing director of the newly launched Kerrang!, Travis Baxter, become managing director of the Big City network in the North of England.

Before moving to Emap, Baxter had worked with SRH in a consultant role for some time. Emap currently owns 27.8 per cent of SRH and is believed to be preparing a bid that will see it take full control of the Scottish network of radio stations and 29 newspapers, with some media spectators indicating that the takeover is imminent.

How the takeover would impact on the management at SRH’s Clydebank HQ and its stations is unclear.
