The ranks of Manchester design agency TCW have been futher depleted by the departure of Paul Heaton, Michael Wiggins and Lee Baxter to Warrington’s Viv’id.

Heaton joins the team as the new creative director, working alongside designer Baxter, while Wiggins will slot into the existing Viv’id communications team.

The arrival of the three is expected to be followed by some of the remaining TCW accounts. A development all but confirmed by Karen Yates of Emap’s comments: “Heaton and his colleagues have always provided creative input of the highest order. The additional team and strategic skills that Viv’id will provide can only be a good thing.”

Viv’id is currently preparing to open another office and is set to undergo significant rebranding. Speaking of the challenges ahead communications director Rachel Morgan noted, “It’s been a difficult year for the advertising industry in the north west, but things are looking brighter and Viv’id is determined to be part of that resurgence.”

Heaton added a parting shot about TCW when he remarked: “We worked hard for our clients, but felt we didn’t have the full support of the directors. Our move was a considered one; we’ve been talking with Viv’id for five months.”
