Speculation doing the rounds in the direct marketing sector suggests that Story could be planning to launch in London.

The agency, headed up by Sue and Dave Mullen, has enjoyed a highly successful two years since the agency was born and it now employs almost 30 staff.

Sue and Dave Mullen were on holiday as The Drum went to press, but Sheila Gallagher at Story denied that anything was set in concrete.

She said: “With the growth we have experienced London is the kind of idea we should be considering, but nothing is concrete at the moment.

“We are an ambitious company and it would be an obvious area for us to expand into, so we are keeping an open disposition to it at the moment.”

DM industry sources say the major issue Story will face is whether they send Edinburgh staff to London to transplant the agency’s culture down there or start totally from scratch with new staff.
