Airline KLM Royal Dutch has appointed Trimedia to handle corporate and consumer PR throughout Scotland.

The consultancy was chosen after a competitive pitch, and is now charged with raising awareness of the company’s services and flight schedule.

KLM marketing communications manager David Paice said: “We were looking for a consultancy that had fresh ideas, a strong consumer track record, good media contacts and would fit in well with our team. Trimedia demonstrated an excellent understanding of our industry and KLM – its presentation was very strong creatively.”

Trimedia director Nicky Hawkins said: “KLM is a great brand and we’re delighted to be working with the team. Our research showed that more people would fly KLM if they knew about the benefits of travelling with the airline. So the back to basics PR programme will focus on promoting these benefits and will seek to extend the media coverage of the brand, breaking away from the travel pages of the print press.”
