Propaganda has taken a giant step into the London marketing services arena with the news that it has snapped up consumer PR agency Revolver Communications.

Revolver, which boasts, in the words of Propaganda chairman Julian Kynaston, a \"mouth-watering\" client list, will retain its full compliment of 14 staff and open a new office in Leeds, Propaganda\'s home town. Agency founder Martin Ballantine is set to retain a 10 per cent stake in the business and will take the titles of Revolver MD and creative director. Former joint MD Simon Hesketh becomes senior planner in a new group role, while Rob Smith, the head of Propaganda\'s own corporate PR division, retains his position and responsibilities.

Speaking about the deal Kynaston commented, \"Revolver\'s highly creative approach will come at the right time for a Northern marketplace that has told us it needs more from its PR options. Their reputation preceded them into the deal and they have great equity.

\"Bringing a major player into the Northern scene overnight will cause more than a few ripples in the sector. When Propaganda marketing arrived in Leeds in January 2003 we promised to challenge the old agency order and our progress over the last eighteen months has born that out. Our reputation is not just based on our growth, but on our ability to deliver results. We are committed to making the same impression in the consumer PR field and we are looking forward to attracting some of the best talent in the North to come and work for us as well as being able to win top grade clients.\"

Revolvers client list includes names such as Yahoo!, Jaffa Cakes, Ben & Jerry\'s and Chupa Chups.
