Jack Irvine, executive chairman of Media House International, is looking to expand his PR consultancy business in London and Scotland by either acquisition or by reversing into a bigger network.

According to Irvine the company is cash rich at the moment, after coming through the recession in better shape than ever, and he is keen to move the company onto the next level.

Irvine now has offices in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and opened a New York office around two and half years ago and a London office in September 2003. In total he employs around 20 full-time staff and uses a number of freelance consultants.

Speaking of his intentions to grow the business Irvine said: “We have come through the PR recession and our turnover is up 10 per cent year on year. The New York investment has certainly paid off for us. We are now looking at all possibilities.”

Irvine added that his plan to buy or merge his business was not part of an exit strategy. He added: “This business is so specialised that you just get better with age, so I am afraid you are not getting rid of me just yet.”
